When do Christmas Day Bookings open?

Our Christmas Day bookings open on the 3rd of October 2025.

Can I book a Christmas Party / Function?

Do I need to pay a deposit for my booking?

When Booking a table for our Christmas Menu we do take a deposit £10 per-person at the time of Booking. This deposit is then deducted from the final amount you owe.

Will I get my deposit back if I cancel my Christmas booking?

Do I need to book a table to visit the restaurant?

You're more than welcome to visit us without a booking, but to ensure we have a table ready and waiting for you, we'd recommend booking a table.

Yes, we do! Our menus highlight 'Non-Gluten Containing' (GF) menu items.

We take allergens very seriously and while every precaution is taken to minimise cross contamination, we cannot guarantee any dish is allergen free.

What is your underage drinking policy?

Due to the UK’s strict licensing laws, The Red Lion, Mortimer as a company operates a proof of age scheme and track attempts by underage drinkers to order alcoholic drinks. Customers are not served alcohol without their current forms of ID and as a responsible retailer we are extremely strict on identifying underage drinkers. Our company policy is that the only acceptable forms of ID are a valid UK passport or a valid full UK driving licence. Managers and their staff have been instructed to check ID of all customers purchasing alcohol who appear to be under the age of 21 years old. If there is any doubt about the age of the customer, or the customer does not produce ID when requested, our staff have the right to refuse service and may ask the customer to leave the premises.

Is your pub dog friendly?

Yes we are dog friendly, we have a few guidelines we ask you to follow:

  • Dogs are welcome in designated dog-friendly pubs at the manager's discretion. We apologise for any inconvenience.
  • Please make sure you and your four-legged friend are considerate of other guests... and other dogs!
    We love wagging tails and excitable characters, but where possible we'd love for you to help keep barking to a minimum.
  • Our team are usually busy serving food and collecting glasses, so for their safety dogs should always be kept on a lead in both inside and outside seating areas.
  • We like to keep our pubs looking their best, so please keep dogs off sofas, chairs and other furniture.
